INTERNATIONAL COCREATIONS AROUND THE FRANCOPHONIE

On the occasion of a four-day songwriting camp, twelve French-speaking artists (6 from France and 6 from other countries) will gather at the Cité internationale de la langue française at the Château de Villers-Cotterêts. Immersed in the rich history of the French language, the twelve artists will put their talents to work in the service of music and Francophonie. In a closed setting during this brief week, the artists will collaborate in a vibrant and creative environment, under the expert guidance of their mentor, Barbara Pravi — a French singer-songwriter — who will share her experience in writing and composing.

Together, they will be invited to compose and create around twenty original French-language songs, showcasing France through its language, expertise, and creativity. The songwriting camp will also provide an opportunity for the participants to attend a masterclass led by YouTube Songwriters, a partner supporting the project. At the end of these four days of creative immersion, the twelve artists will unveil the fruits of their work during two listening sessions designed to discover, analyze, and appreciate the work accomplished. These events will be held in an intimate setting at the Château de Villers-Cotterêts as well as at the YouTube Songwriters offices at Google France in Paris.

On the agenda: a visit of the exhibition at the Cité internationale de la langue française and learning about the history of the Château, exchange time with the camp mentor, Barbara Pravi, creative and songwriting sessions, a masterclass led by YouTube Songwriters, and listening sessions at Villers-Cotterêts and at YouTube Songwriters at Google France headquarters.
